[DEMO] Use Mod Header extension to impersonate a user in Dynamics 365 CRM

[DEMO] Use Mod Header extension to impersonate a user in Dynamics 365 CRM

When we do security role-related test in Dynamic 365 CRM, generally we might have to create at least a test user and assign different security roles.
Today, I wanna share with you a Chrome browser extension "Mod Header". Then you will need not create test users but just impersonate existing users with different security roles.
There are other similar extensions that can do the same thing, but now I just take "Mod Header" for example.

Step 1  Install ModHeader extension in the chrome web store.

Step 2  Get target user GUID.
Go to Advanced Setting -- Security -- User, right-click the target user, and choose "Open in a New Window".

Copy user GUID after "systemuser&id=" in the new window URL.

Step 3  Set up ModHeader extension.

Set the header parameter name to "MSCRMCallerId".
Set its value to the target user GUID.
Make sure the parameter has been checked.
         Don't click ADD button.

Step 4  Open an App, you will see the current user has been your target user.

Done.
